Film - We Shall Remain: After the Mayflower

This PBS documentary begins with the uneasy alliance between Massasoit, sachem of the Wampanoags of New England, and the Pilgrim settlers whose early survival depended on the Wampanoag’s help. Expanded European colonization, competition for natural resources, widespread disease and mistreatment of the Native people led to a brutal war just fifty years later that was disastrous for the indigenous tribes.
